Our second day out at alton towers(in 2005).
Another fantastic trip to Alton Towers.The 9th September 2005 saw the second of our trips out to Alton Towers this year, this was the fourth of the trips to Alton. Like 2 months ago we got stuck in the traffic outside stoke-on-trent, on a related note this should be completed sometime early 2006, but that's the road people that said that.
This years rides were(by one or more members of the group):
Imperial leather's log flume [6/10] - A fun ride there was more room than last time, no queue(0 min)Corkscrew [6/10] - A nice quick ride that was painless, short que(5 mins)
Oblivion [9/10] - A real cool thriller of a ride that makes you fear, long que(40 mins)
Rita [8/10] - This is really cool, long queue(45 mins)
Hex [6/10] - Just as much fun as the first time, no queue(0 mins)
Corkscrew [5/10] - Nice fun ride, short queue(5 mins)
SkyRide [8/10] - It does exactly what it says on the tin, gets you from A to B, no queue(0 mins)
Air [10/10] - Although it still had it's faults(please alton make this ride work better) I'd forgotten what a fantastic ride this was! longish queue (35 mins)
Duel [6/10] - Still a good fun ride, no queue (0 mins)
River Rapids [6/10] - Fun but it's starting to get boring, short queue(2 mins)
Runaway mine train [7/10] - This ride is a little gem, it looks like a kids ride but it's much more fun, no
queue(0 mins)
Imperial leather's log flume [1/10] - This ride is increadably predictable now, there was a fault with the water, it
soaked me from head to toe! Short queue (3 mins)
Overall we got much better value for money this time, as the tickets only cost a tenner each ride worked out costing LESS than £1 each! In general the park was in much better condittion compared to out previous outing, and it was much quieter too!
Our Tips
#1: See rules from before.#2: Go when the kids and 6th form students go back, you'll enjoy much shorter queues.
#3: Get the return for £12 later this year, they are worth it.
#4: Don't listen to ABBA in the car they'll put a downer on the whole day.
#5: The queues DON'T go shorter during the day, they get longer, so go in the queue ASAP, and keep in it even if the
ride breaks down.
#6: The "queue will last ... from this point" always lie, they over estimate the queue time(to cover themselves) so the 40 mins sign actually means 25 mins.
