The AtomWay Christmas party 2005 in Manchester.

Our mini party before christmas.

The night of the 10th / early morning of the 11th saw the first of many AtomWay parties. It was badly attended but we still managed to have fun even though there was just the three of us. The trip took us to Hanaan curry house on Wilmslow road, then to many cash machines then to Oshaes in the city centre.

The evening started off badly as when we left AtomWay HQ(aka Owens Park, Fallowfield) the cash machine decided to play an nasty trick and say there was no money in the account, followed by "would you like another service" like what? What does anyone use a cash machine for? I've never seen anyone put money into one of those things. We then went to another cash machine which this time said "This machine is temperally out of money, Would you like another service" much to my anger. I wont be visiting a barcleys machine any time soon.

Instead of looking for a machine that did work we then went to Hanaan curry house, as they were the only one that offered a discount for our extreamly large group. The food was very nice and not too spicy which was good, There were two Rogan Josh's one Chicken, one Lamb(which looked like beef to me but indians see the cow as a sacred animal and I respect that), and one vegatable something(can't remember the sauce it was in). Overall a very nice service with polite waiters, my one complaint was that it took them a long time to bring us the bill, if they didn't want us to pay then they should have said before hand.

After the curry, came the trip into the centre. As usual there were the drunk people on the bus, they must be employed by the bus company after 8PM as they are on every bus at night. After we got off there was the trip with the securicor van to the bank to make a withdrawal(£5,000,000 should do the trick please), to a proper bank not shitty barcleys. After the securicor van left (I really don't know when that joke started), we went walking to find the pub for the night.

Oshaes was where it was, can't remember where exacly it was(the name of the road that is). It was £2 each, which was very reasonably considering it was a Saturday night and it was the centre, compared to Robinski's which was £3 on a Thursday. Once we got there we felt like we fit in, everyone was friendly and after a while you felt like you could trust them. Everone was singing, dancing(well drunk dancing), and swinging along to the Christmas songs. Even though there were a few drunks they got chucked out before they puked or turned violent.

The live band were brilliant and they were really liked by the crowd. Even when they finished at about 12:10AM the music didn't stop there there were party favourites, mostly Christmas tracks which we all loved, played until it was stopped at 2AM. When the party stopped we slowly left and there was a large queue of busses ready to take all the party people safely back to their homes. We saw some people that had clearly had too much to drink, and had thrown up in the gutter.

The walk home came next(we weren't going to pay £1 to go back 2 miles), and we eventually all got back by 3:30AM which wasn't too bad, as it didn't rain like the night before (from "THE PUB"). Luckily there were no severe hangovers in the group. The next AtomWay event has yet to be organised but we hope it will be as much fun as this one!
